About The Role
The Patricia Begg Internship is a 6‐month, 2 days per week position for recent graduates or early‐career professionals in museum collections, archives, library and information services. The role is based with the Collections team at Arts Centre Melbourne, where it provides hands‐on experience across a range of specialist collection areas under the supervision of the Research Coordinator.
Responsibilities
* Book and supervise research appointments.
* Conduct library stocktakes.
* Assist in the preparation of new acquisitions.
* Support the de‐installation or installation of objects in displays.
* Sort collections and improve database records.
* Maintain and edit collection documentation.
Qualifications
* Tertiary degree in Museum Studies, Librarianship, Information Management, Archives, or a related discipline.
* Well‐developed verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
* Experience working collaboratively to deliver projects and manage priorities.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with contemporary operating systems and applications.
* Ability to learn new systems such as the Collections EMU database.
* Strong problem‐solving skills and keen attention to detail.

Employment at Arts Centre Melbourne is conditional upon the satisfactory completion of a National Police Check.
