We are building towards fully autonomous competition robots — this role is part of that journey. At AI Cubed Academy and Helix Robotics, we are not just teaching robotics — we are building future engineers and technical leaders. This role is designed for individuals who want to go beyond teaching and contribute to a real engineering learning system.
What You'll Do
* Review student CAD and manufacturing decisions (CNC, laser cutting, 3D printing)
* Guide students to balance time, cost, and performance constraints
* Enforce structured iteration: No guesswork—identify root causes before making changes, ensure strong engineering discipline (Cause → Action → Test → Evaluate), push for reliability and repeatability, not one‐off success
* Co-host and drive technical discussions with coaches
* Break down real FTC design strategies: trade‐offs, constraints, why top teams choose certain solutions
* Research and share insights on FTC ecosystem, mechanisms, and system design
* Work alongside students to compare solutions and make engineering decisions
Who This Is For
* Experience in robotics (FTC/FRC/similar) or engineering projects
* Enjoy breaking down systems and understanding why things work
* Curious, self‐driven, and enjoy continuous learning
* Want to develop into a technical leader, not just a mentor
What Success Looks Like
* Students explain their thinking before building
* Iterations become faster and more effective
* Designs become simpler, cleaner, and more reliable
* Students begin to challenge ideas — including yours
Growth Path
* Senior Technical Mentor
* Automation Lead (FTC/FRC)
* System Architect (AI + Robotics)
