Our Customer
A national engineering consultancy is seeking a Lead Power Systems Engineer to drive the technical delivery of its cutting-edge modular energy system — a first-of-its-kind, AI-enabled microgrid technology used in hybrid and off-grid applications.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the General Manager, this is a key technical leadership role within a high-performing team that is designing and delivering complex, scalable clean-energy systems. You’ll lead the end-to-end development of advanced power systems — including microgrid, battery storage, and hybrid diesel-renewable applications — for high-profile industrial clients.
You’ll play a central role in both engineering delivery and team leadership, while also contributing to client solutions and strategic direction across national rollout programs.
* Lead system design, engineering calculations, and product development across microgrid and hybrid systems
* Guide commissioning, FAT/SAT, and on-site delivery, supported by a growing project and engineering team
* Provide technical direction across electrical, controls, and systems engineering efforts
* Work closely with clients to shape energy solutions and support proposal development
* Collaborate with internal teams across mechanical, software, and control systems to refine product iterations
* Balance hands-on engineering with leadership, mentoring, and influencing technical priorities
* Contribute to the ongoing improvement and commercial scalability of a high-potential clean energy product
About You:
We’re looking for a technically strong and hands-on power systems engineer who can lead, influence, and problem-solve in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You’ll be just as comfortable in the detail as you are engaging clients or mentoring junior engineers.
You Will Have
* A degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field)
* Strong experience in power systems design — ideally including solar, BESS, hybrid or off-grid applications
* Proven hands-on commissioning and FAT/SAT experience in field environments
* The ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritise effectively, and deliver under pressure
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Leadership capability and a desire to build and mentor a growing team
Some interstate travel to regional sites (QLD/SA/NT) will be required, and additional allowances are offered for on-site work.
