Based in Perth, we operate world‐class mineral projects across Australia and are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our multidisciplinary team and advance the clarity and usability of our electrical and mechanical documentation.
Technical Writerx 2 (Electrical & Mechanical)
* Produce, edit, and maintain technical documentation for electrical and mechanical systems, equipment, and infrastructure used in mining operations (control systems, switchgear, motors, drives, cabling, piping, mechanical assemblies, maintenance procedures, and commissioning records).
* Develop and manage structured documents, including manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, maintenance strategies, design specifications, test plans, and commissioning dossiers.
* Translate complex technical data (schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, isometrics, BOMs) into clear, user‐friendly documentation for engineers, technicians, operators, and service providers.
* Collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Reliability, and Safety teams to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
* Create and maintain document templates, style guides, and a robust document control process (versioning, approvals, publishing, and archival).
* Support training materials and user manuals to facilitate effective system operation and maintenance.
* Participate in project phases from design through to handover, ensuring documentation aligns with project deliverables, risk assessments, and commissioning outcomes.
* Ensure documentation adheres to relevant standards and compliance requirements (e.g., AS/NZS, client standards, ISO 9001/14001/45001 where applicable).
Who You Are
* Technical writing professional with hands‐on understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in heavy industry or mining environments.
* Strong ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control narratives, mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and BOMs, and convert them into clear documentation.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an attention to clarity, accuracy, and audience needs.
* Detail‐oriented, organised, and capable of meeting tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
* Ability to work cross‐functionally and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
* Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Technical Communication, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience also considered.
* Mining or heavy industry experience is highly desirable, as is familiarity with safety and regulatory requirements.

Casual Loading
Please note for all Australian based contract and temporary roles only, the pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading. This excludes permanent and fixed term roles.
