The Team Leader Community Wellbeing provides leadership and direction to a multidisciplinary team working to improve the health, wellbeing, and social connection of our community.
This role focuses on turning strategic wellbeing priorities into meaningful, place-based outcomes by leading people, building partnerships, and supporting inclusive, strengths-based approaches that respond to community need.
About the Team
The Wellbeing team works at the intersection of community development, prevention, inclusion, and liveability. The team collaborates across Council and with community partners to address the underlying factors that influence wellbeing, belonging, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, support, and develop a team delivering wellbeing-focused programs, projects, and initiatives
* Provide clear direction, coaching, and performance management to ensure high-quality outcomes
* Build and maintain strong relationships with community organisations, service providers, and internal stakeholders
* Embed inclusive and culturally safe practices across the team's work
* Manage program budgets, contracts and reporting requirements
* Contribute to strategic planning, reporting, and continuous improvement
* Advocate for integrated, whole-of-organisation approaches to wellbeing and prevention
What You'll Bring
* Demonstrated experience leading teams in community wellbeing, community development, health, or related fields
* A strong understanding of the social factors that influence wellbeing and inequality
* Demonstrated experience and knowledge working in fields including homelessness, youth, disability and with people from diverse backgrounds including aboriginal, multi-cultural, LGBTQIA+
* Proven ability to lead through complexity and work collaboratively across disciplines
* Highly developed communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills
* A values-driven leadership style grounded in equity, inclusion, and respect
* Experience working with diverse communities and stakeholders
