Delivering Support Services
Caseworkers offer professional intervention to young offenders who are subject to youth justice interventions, aiming to reduce re-offending rates. They work within a statutory environment, balancing the roles of monitoring young offenders' compliance with court orders and intervening to address issues that pose a risk of re-offending.
Key Responsibilities:
* Demonstrate cultural awareness and effectively work in an inclusive culture aligned with the Human Rights Act 2019, supporting programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
* Manage young offenders' compliance and intervene to reduce re-offending using culturally appropriate assessment and intervention skills.
* Collaborate as part of a team to achieve positive outcomes for victims, young offenders, their families, and the community.
* Prepare reports and conduct interviews to support best practice outcomes.
* Maintain accurate records and information management tasks to ensure accountability.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
A relevant tertiary degree in social work, behavioral science, or criminology is required.
