Job Opportunity
As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for delivering financial analysis and commercial activities to support the department's objectives. You will work closely with experts from various business areas to provide valuable insights and drive value for money.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide finance support for complex procurements, including developing payment mechanisms and drafting tender documents.
* Conduct Should Cost analyses and contribute to Delivery Model Assessments to determine the most appropriate delivery method.
* Analyse financial statements and provide opinions on the relative strength and ongoing financial viability of suppliers.
* Lead reviews and analyse open book data to ensure maximum economic value from existing contracts.
* Lead and develop a small team of finance professionals, contributing to joint team and corporate objectives.
* Ensure commercial activity adheres to published guidance, including Managing Public Money and the Sourcing Playbook.
* Provide advice and insight to support data-driven decision making and collaborate with other functional experts to deliver shared objectives.
Essential Criteria
* (Lead Criteria) Experience of critically reviewing, challenging, and evaluating commercial proposals to deliver value for money.
* Experience of financial modelling, including risk allocation, should cost modelling, and pricing model design.
* The ability to analyse complex data and communicate outcomes and financial concepts to a non-financial audience.
* Experience of leading within a team of subject matter experts and bringing together expertise from multiple disciplines to drive desired outcomes.
* Experience of ensuring adherence to financial policy, including influencing stakeholders at all levels and demonstrating integrity and credibility.
Qualifications
You must hold a full chartered level professional qualification awarded by a UK-recognised accountancy body: CIMA, ICAEW, ACCA, CIPFA, ICAS or Chartered Accountants Ireland.
