About Evoke

Evoke Projects is a national design & construct specialist delivering technically complex $2m–$15m new build and specialist fitout projects across healthcare and related sectors.

We operate predominantly within Design & Construct and Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) models — partnering with clients early to shape cost, methodology and programme collaboratively.

As we expand nationally — particularly in new build — we are strengthening our operational structure to support disciplined, scalable growth.


The Mandate

This is a full lifecycle operational leadership role with accountability across:

* Sales presentation attendance (programme strategy & methodology input)
* Site and project investigation / buildability review
* Pre-construction review prior to contract
* Client handover

You will lead and be accountable for the performance of:

* Project Managers
* Contract Administrators
* Site Managers
* Operations Coordinator (Accounts Receivable & Job Book reporting)
* Head of Safety & Quality / Systems

This role carries responsibility for both delivery performance and operational infrastructure.

Your mandate is to import structured governance and systems from larger environments — and apply them pragmatically within a $2m–$15m D&C business.

You will always carry at least one active project to:

* Pressure-test systems in live conditions
* Ensure reporting frameworks are practical
* Stay connected to real project dynamics

This is a leadership role — but not a detached one.


Customer Experience & D&C Maturity

We are not a hard-dollar, adversarial contractor.

We are a relationship-driven D&C business.

We are particularly interested in leaders who have operated within:

* Upper Tier 3 commercial builders
* Client-side construction management

You understand that:

* Early involvement shapes outcomes
* Flexibility and commercial discipline must co-exist
* Client trust is built through calm, structured decision-making
* Client experience is strategic — not secondary.


Pragmatic Leadership in a D&C Environment

We operate in a genuine Design & Construct model.

Not everything is perfectly defined at day one.

You must be:

* Comfortable operating with ambiguity
* Flexible in aligning construction approaches to evolving client requirements
* Willing to step into detail when required
* Prepared to accept responsibility for portfolio outcomes
* Calm and commercially grounded under pressure

This role requires both strategic oversight and practical construction judgement.


Systems & Change Maturity

You will oversee operational reporting, job cost visibility, AR discipline and safety/quality systems through your leadership of the Operations Coordinator and Head of Safety & Quality.

We value improvement — not impulsive change.

The successful candidate will:

* Spend their first 6 months deeply understanding our business
* Work within existing systems and reporting structures
* Evaluate current processes before recommending structural or software changes
* Lead informed, thoughtful system evolution

We are seeking evolution — not disruption for its own sake.


The Capability Profile

You will demonstrate:

* Experience implementing delivery systems or governance frameworks
* Strong reporting and WIP discipline
* Leadership of PMs, CAs, Site Managers and operational support roles
* Commercial maturity without adversarial posture


Essential Qualifications

* Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Building, Engineering or related discipline
* Strong technical grounding in construction methodology
* Strong Tier 2 leaders seeking broader influence — and upper Tier 3 leaders ready to scale with structure — are encouraged to apply.
