Join the largest marina in Victoria as our Site Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Coordinator.
Westernport Marina is in Hastings on the Mornington Peninsula - Great by Day, Magic at night!
Our marina holds a broad range of vessels in wet berth and dry storage in the leisure and commercial marine sectors, together with boat travel lift and boat maintenance hardstand activities.
As the Site OHS Coordinator at Westernport Marina, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of our clients, employees and contractors at our marina.
This full time role is based on site at the marina.
What you'll be doing
* Maintain site OHS policies, procedures and safe work practices to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations
* Conduct regular site inspections and audits with marina team members to identify and address potential safety hazards
* Deliver safety training and toolbox talks to employees and contractors
* Investigate incidents and near-misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions
* Maintain and prepare accurate OHS records, documentation and report databases
What we're looking for
* Candidates must demonstrate a qualification in OHS, acquired from a Registered Training Organisation
* Demonstrated experience leading site safety systems
* Strong working knowledge of relevant OHS legislation, standards and best practices
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the organisation
* Proactive, detail-oriented and committed to continuous improvement of safety systems and practices
* Competent in the use of safety management software and data analysis tools
