Opportunity
This is a fixed‐term opportunity until June 2027 with the possibility of extension or permanency. The Regulatory Operations Officer plays a key role within the Environment Watch team, supporting statewide service delivery and the management of environmental, resource‐management, and public‐health enquiries and complaints.
Responsibilities
The position forms part of the initial contact team, responsible for capturing and assessing telephone and electronic reports, maintaining accurate records and data systems, and ensuring timely, high‐quality responses to stakeholders. The role also contributes to identifying emerging environmental risks, supporting trend analysis, and enabling effective, responsive action to address environmental challenges.
Working in a responsive and collaborative environment, the role provides essential administrative and operational support while applying policies, procedures, and sound judgement to achieve positive outcomes. It involves engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including referring matters to relevant agencies where required, and delivering high standards of customer service in complex or sensitive situations. The role contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, and building team capability, while upholding strong values of integrity, inclusion, safety, and public‐service excellence.
