We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Payroll Officer to support the delivery of accurate, compliant and efficient payroll services.

About the Role
You will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processing for 2,000+ employees, ensuring payments are delivered accurately and on time.
The role includes system support, award interpretation, leave management, payroll query resolution and involvement in key payroll projects.
Key Responsibilities
Process accurate fortnightly payroll and off-cycle payments.
Investigate, resolve and respond to high-volume payroll queries from employees and managers.
Collaborate with HR on separations, overpayments, short pays and staff movements.
Maintain and reconcile leave balances, including conducting detailed Long Service Leave audits.
Act as aSuper Userfor payroll and time & attendance systems, supporting system operations.
Participate inUser Acceptance Testing (UAT)for system changes and the Workday implementation.
Support defect management during hyper-care to reduce post-go-live issues.
Interpret Awards, EBAs and relevant legislation to ensure compliance.
Contribute to ongoing improvements in payroll accuracy, processes and controls.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
Demonstrated experience in high-volume end-to-end payroll processing.
Strong understanding of payroll legislation, Fair Work, Awards and EBAs.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience using payroll systems (PayGlobal, RosterOn, Workday or similar).
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
