About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Financial Analyst to join Swiss Re's Group Finance function in Sydney, Australia. This is a role where your financial expertise meets real‐world impact — you'll be at the heart of finance transformation, helping to shape reporting capabilities, drive process efficiencies, and embed innovative, AI‐enabled solutions across our finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Partner closely with the regional team to review and validate incoming business into Swiss Re's system landscape, identifying and escalating issues where appropriate
* Support the development of reporting capabilities for newly acquired ANZ legal entities
* Drive the practical adoption of AI‐enabled tools by bridging emerging technologies with business‐relevant use cases
* Support transition and integration activities across multiple systems, including back‐book portfolios, quota share (QS), and prospective business
* Perform reconciliations relating to fronting arrangements and cross‐border transactions
* Support capital analysis and reporting activities
* Monitor intragroup retrocession arrangements and associated financial impacts
* Assist in maintaining robust controls across IFRS 17 booking processes, including classification and end‐to‐end reporting
Process Improvement
* Evaluate, challenge, and enhance existing financial processes and systems to improve efficiency and reliability
* Implement leading practices in process design, automation, and systems usage
* Support finance transformation initiatives, including the embedding of AI‐enabled workflows
* Ensure ongoing compliance with internal controls, governance standards, and corporate policies
Stakeholder Management
* Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and cross‐functional teams
* Communicate insights, risks, and recommendations clearly to senior management and key stakeholders
* Build strong working relationships to support delivery of finance and transformation objectives
About The Team
The P&C Finance team is part of Swiss Re's Group Finance function and plays a critical role in supporting the financial performance and integrity of the Property & Casualty and Corso business. The team is responsible for financial reporting, analysis, and control across a complex and dynamic portfolio, working closely with regional and global stakeholders to deliver accurate, timely, and insightful financial information. Operating at the forefront of finance transformation, the team is actively embedding innovative technologies and process improvements to enhance reporting capabilities and drive operational excellence.

You are a proactive, curious, and detail‐oriented finance professional who brings both technical rigour and a continuous improvement mindset to everything you do. You're comfortable navigating complex, multi‐system environments and have a genuine interest in how technology — including AI — can transform the way finance teams operate. Candidate Requirements
* Experience in insurance/reinsurance accounting, ideally within complex reporting environments, with a strong understanding of the industry's financial landscape
* Familiarity with IFRS 17 reporting requirements and financial control environments, with demonstrated ability to apply these standards in practice
* Proficiency in financial systems and tools, with demonstrated experience working across complex, multi‐system finance environments and an interest in emerging technologies, including AI‐enabled solutions
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and business recommendations
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; a professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CA) is preferred
Nice to Haves
* Experience with AI‐enabled finance workflows and a track record of driving technology adoption within a finance function
* Exposure to capital analysis, intragroup retrocession arrangements, or cross‐border transaction reporting
* Experience supporting finance transformation initiatives, including system migrations or integrations
* Partially qualified actuarial background with strong finance and systems experience
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non‐finance stakeholders
* A curious and self‐motivated approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to a rapidly changing environment
* Strong integrity and commitment to ethical standards in all aspects of work
