Strike Force Services is an established local facilities management company providing services to mining & power station industries and local councils throughout NSW and QLD.
We are a COVID-19 safe business with a team of approximately 400 dedicated and long-term employees.
**The Role**
We are seeking dedicated and hardworking Trade Assistants to assist with workflow in the Singleton NSW area.
Duties include:
- Assisting a range of trade services - Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC
- Basic grounds maintenance - zero turn mowers, brushcutters, hedgers, etc.
- Keep material stock up to date
- Setup and pack up equipment
- Maintain a clean and functional workspace at all times
- General handyman duties
- Assist with minor building work e.g fit outs if required such as cabinets
- General site clean-up work - hosing, sweeping, shovelling, etc
- Carry out inspections
- Driving in the pit of the mine with heavy vehicle interactions
- Communicate with Strike Force Facilities Coordinator to determine daily work priorities
- Adhere to Strike Force Services and site policies and procedures
- Actively participate in daily risk management processes and regular toolbox meetings
- Undertake Job Safety Analysis and take 5 on site before each task
**Skills and Experience**
- General building maintenance / handyman experience
- Sound understanding of tools and equipment
- Good work ethic and reliability is paramount
- Confidence to effectively communicate with the client
- Current drivers' licence and must have own transport (Manual licence is preferred)
- White Card
- Live within 45 minutes drive of Singleton
- High level of physical fitness to perform the lifting / manual handling of this role
- Grounds maintenance experience desirable but not essential
- The ability to plan, prioritise and problem solve
- Be able to work effectively and productively both alone and as part of a team
- Be able to stand/walk over long periods of time, indoors and outdoors during summer and winter months
- Experience in documented risk management processes - able to complete JSEA, SWMS, Take 5, etc
- Understanding of Work, Health & Safety
- Be able to provide 3 work related references
- Be able to complete and pass a full medical including drug and alcohol testing. _**We have a zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol and testing is ongoing during employment.**_
