**About the role**
You will champion a positive security culture and maintain contemporary awareness of emerging threats and risks to inform security planning activities, as well as work closely with all functions of the business to provide timely and accurate security advice.
**As the Security Advisor, you will**:
- Administer requirements as a designated DISP Security Officer and ensure compliance with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF).
- Identify and manage security risks across physical, personnel, information, and governance security domains.
- Manage physical security measures including electronic access control and alarm systems.
- Conduct threat and risk assessments to protect our people, facilities and information.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
- Manage personnel security including security clearance administration activities.
- Develop and deliver tailored security awareness induction and training programs.
- Provide timely and accurate protective security and risk management advice.
- Contribute to supply chain security management activities.
- Collaborate with teams across the business to align security priorities with overall business goals and strategies.
**You will need**:
- Demonstrated experience in security risk management in private sector and/or government.
- Strong experience as designated DISP Security Officer and managing DISP compliance activities.
- Ability to develop tailored security risk assessments and threat assessments.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both internal and external partners.
- Ability to cultivate and foster relationships across government and industry.
- A current NV1 security clearance is required as a minimum.
- Tertiary qualifications in risk management, emergency management, business continuity, counterterrorism, governance, or similar discipline is desirable.
