We are looking for a
Supply Chain Coordinator
within our
Rivtow Marine, Port Hedland
team. Based at our waterfront location, you will lead the supply chain function for Rivtow Marine, to obtain best value for the business through customer focus, good supplier relationships & continuous improvement.
This opportunity to live and work in Western Australia's thriving Pilbara region will see you report directly to the Senior Operations Manager, and will require you to use your experience and well-developed communication skills and procurement expertise to support the operations and a large fleet of escort and harbour tugs, in the busiest export port in the world. The ideal candidate will bring:
Procurement and warehouse experience in the marine or mining industry (essential).
Proven expertise in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Strong experience in database maintenance and management.
Exceptional organisational and problem-solving abilities.
Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Utilising
Pronto ERP
and
Cognos
reporting programs for reporting, stock control, and purchases.
Maintaining the physical warehouse and the
Pronto
database for recurrent purchases and critical spares.
Managing the purchase requisition system for supplying inventory to tugboats.
Coordinating the delivery of goods between suppliers, storage facilities, and Tug Haven.
Receiving goods into the store as required.
Collaborating with technical personnel to forecast inventory reorder levels and with accounting personnel to develop budgets.
Working with technical staff and marine contractors to research and understand technical and compliance requirements for purchases.
Reviewing purchase orders to ensure policy compliance.
Negotiating and tendering with local, national, and international suppliers for price agreements, contracts, and capital items.
Managing price agreements, contracts, and relationships with preferred and strategic suppliers.
Leading continuous improvement projects, showcasing their value to Rivtow Marine's customers through well-developed business cases.
Required Qualifications, Training, and Track Record
To excel in this role, you will need:
Relevant qualifications in logistics, warehousing, or procurement.
3-5 years' experience in procurement and warehouse operations within the marine or mining industry.
Experience in forklift operations and stores, including Forklift VOC certification.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Experience with database maintenance and reporting tools.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
Strong negotiation skills and a professional presentation.
Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to handle multiple priorities under pressure.
A self-motivated mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively, anticipating business needs.
