About Us
Farley Pastoral is a progressive, family-run farming operation located at Kybybolite in SA's South-East. Our established operation combines broadacre cropping, a self-replacing ewe flock, and a modern automated lamb finishing system. Backed by motivated, hands-on owners, we pride ourselves on continuous improvement, running a property targeting high measurable meat standards and flock performance.
The Opportunity
If you're an experienced farm operations assistant who enjoys variety and taking pride and ownership in your work, this role offers you the chance to dive into all areas of a modern farming enterprise. Your work will cross cropping, livestock and feedlot operations, supported by well-maintained, modern machinery and best-practice systems.
This full-time role will have you responsible for:
* Operating machinery for sowing, spraying, spreading, harvesting and hay production
* Hands-on livestock operations, including stock movement, feeding and watering, sheep husbandry and general livestock care
* Infrastructure projects like fencing, water systems and general property maintenance
* Working with our team to maintain machinery and equipment to a high standard
What we're looking for
We're seeking someone with practical farm experience, who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, facing a challenge and doing things well. You'll have a positive attitude, a team focus, a strong work ethic and a desire to grow in your skills and career with us.
You'll also bring:
* Practical problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work
* Excellent communication skills and a team-focused mindset
* An ability to adapt to new technology and practices
* A keen eye for presentation and maintaining neat and tidy work habits
* An understanding of farm life realities – physical fitness for demanding outdoor work, variable hours and seasonal demands.
What's in it for you?
We know accommodation can often be a barrier for workers in the ag sector. Rather than providing our successful candidate with housing, we're offering a competitive salary allowing the freedom to rent or buy in any of the great rural towns surrounding our property.
You'll also enjoy
* Job security - a secure, long-term position within a successful farming operation
* Supportive team culture – owners who work alongside you and a team who values respect and teamwork
* Career growth - ongoing training and skill development across livestock, cropping and machinery operation
* Real variety – broad exposure across our diverse operation, with the opportunity to specialise.
Ready for the challenge?
If you're ready to take on this opportunity, we'd love to receive your application. Please head to SEEK to submit your resume and a short cover letter to introduce yourself, explain your interest and experience in farming and why you'd like to join our team.
Applications close 15th February 2026, though suitable candidates will be contacted earlier which may result in the position being filled early.
