Senior Structural Engineer
who’s ready to step confidently into a leadership role and help shape the future of our team and technical direction.
This role is being created to support Ricaya’s next phase of growth. From day one, you’ll be trusted with a diverse and engaging portfolio of projects—ranging from complex multi-storey and commercial developments to high-end architectural homes—while playing a key role in driving technical excellence, innovation, and high-quality project delivery across the business.
Within 12–24 months, the successful candidate will be positioned as a core technical leader, with increasing influence over team development, standards, and strategic growth.
About the Role As a Senior Structural Engineer at Ricaya, you will:
Lead structural design and delivery across residential and commercial projects of varying scale and complexity
Take ownership of project planning, coordination, and quality assurance to ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard
Collaborate closely with architects, builders, and consultants to deliver practical, buildable, and innovative engineering solutions
Mentor and support junior engineers while guiding our drafting team to produce accurate, well-coordinated documentation
Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, NCC requirements, and industry best practices
Play an active role in business development, including building client relationships, contributing to proposals, and supporting the growth of Ricaya’s project pipeline
Drive continuous improvement across internal systems, workflows, and technical standards

What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering (or an equivalent qualification recognised in Australia)
7+ years of structural engineering experience in Australia, with a strong background in residential and commercial buildings
Strong technical capability in reinforced concrete and steel design (experience with seismic design is a plus)
Proficiency in industry-standard software such as RAM Concept, ETABS, SpaceGass, or similar
Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), or actively working toward chartership
Proven ability to manage projects, lead technical teams, and deliver high-quality engineering outcomes
Strong commercial awareness, sound engineering judgement, and risk management capability
A genuine passion for mentoring, collaboration, and building a high-performance team culture
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
Bonus:
Experience in business development and/or an existing professional network that can help grow our client base

Key Responsibilities
Design and analyse a wide range of building structures
Prepare, review, and approve engineering calculations, drawings, models, and reports
Develop practical, buildable structural solutions in collaboration with the wider team
Coordinate with architects, clients, builders, and consultants throughout the design lifecycle
Attend site inspections and project meetings as required
Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support across the engineering and drafting teams
