Job Description
SGS is seeking a full-time Chemist for a 12-month parental leave cover position on Curtis Island. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Laboratory operations and field sampling at the Curtis Island facility. Testing cargo for LNG assay and reporting to market requirements. Testing waters, wastewaters, and access in the LNG plant. Providing chemical analysis of routine and non-routine samples as directed by the client. Managing off-site chemical analysis for environmental, in-process hydrocarbon, and LNG product testing. Providing sample containers, collection, freight, and analysis in a cost-effective, timely, accurate, and safe manner. Qualifications
Ideally, candidates will have:
A tertiary qualification in Chemistry or a related discipline. At least 2 years of experience in an oil and gas industry laboratory, especially in analytical testing of water, hydrocarbons, or similar. Experience with analytical instruments such as gas chromatography, UV/Vis photometry, and titrimetric instruments. Hazard awareness related to operating live gas plant sampling stations. Familiarity with NATA/ISO 17025 accreditation for chemical testing laboratories. Experience with using a LIMS system. Additional Information
