Introduction
We are seeking a Trades Assistant to join our Service team at our Tomago Workshop. You will be responsible for the trades team and carrying out labour repairs work on equipment to ensure all aspects of the repairs business run smoothly and service expectations are achieved.
In this position, you will report to the Service Centre Manager.
Team you belong to
You will join a growing and experienced team of Service technicians who strive to ensure operations and workshop repairs are completed on time and to a high standard. Our team is motivated and keen to succeed.
What You'll Do
Assist qualified trades persons to carry out allocated tasks
Conduct daily housekeeping in the immediate workplace and surrounding areas
General handyman works / assistance as required for the facility
Undertake repairs of screens, pumps and associated equipment as instructed by the workshop supervisor/leading hand
Communicate clearly with the Supervisor and leading hand regarding their service requirements
Adhere to correct behaviour, appearance and work practices are upheld as per Company standards
Ensure the correct Personal Protective Equipment is utilised, and taking responsibility for own health and safety and on the job performance
Maintain good housekeeping and a positive proactive approach to getting work completed with a high focus on Quality
Operate a Forklift & over-head cranes as required
Who You Are
Rigging experience in a heavy industry/mining environment
Experience using hand tools
Forklift ticket
EWP ticket
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to undertake repetitive work whilst maintaining high attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively with other employees, both verbally and written.
Positive and proactive approach to safety
Excellent work presentation values.
Desirable
Previous exposure to a workshop/maintenance environment.
Interest in mechanical workshop environment
