Primary objective
Undertake a diverse range of administrative and logistical support functions necessary for the effective operation of the
Cabinet Office and Secretariat Services.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide administrative support to the Executive Director, Cabinet Office and Secretariat Services, including records
management, phone screening and diary management.
2. Undertake a broad range of administrative support activities including routine inquiries, assisting with room bookings,
and organising catering.
3. Provide divisional corporate support including procurement, purchasing and payments in-line with Government policies
and coordinate ICT maintenance.
4. When required, provide assistance to the Senior Director, Cabinet Office and Strategic Projects and the Managers of
Secretariat and the Cabinet Office.
5. Assistance with preparing for the annual opening of the 30-year Cabinet and Executive Council records under the
NT Information Act and administrative support for the Northern Territory Remuneration Tribunal e.g. digitise
documentation.
1. Digitise, archive and store Cabinet documents.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Understanding of government governance procedures and processes or demonstrated ability to quickly acquire same.
2. A high level of attention to detail and a highly organised and efficient approach to duties with good standard of written
and oral communication skills.
3. Experience in dealing appropriately with highly confidential issues and documents.
4. Experience in administrative procedures and systems including high level competency in Microsoft Word and in
database, mainframe, financial management, corporate reporting and records management systems (such as TRM, EIMS,
ECMS, SharePoint, TRIPS or similar).
1. Experience in working with limited supervision, setting priorities and meeting strict deadlines while working as part of a
team, providing a client-focused service.
1. An ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
2. Preparedness to work outside core business and extended hours when required.
