Control Room Trainee / Water Administration Trainee

Network Operations & Maintenance

Temporary Full Time (12 months from appointment)

Hervey Bay

% of Stream A Level 1 - $42,343 OR minimum wage if over 21

+ 8-day fortnight

What we are looking for:

We're looking for a motivated and organised trainee who is keen to learn and start their career in administration. This entry-level role is ideal for school leavers or young people wanting real workplace experience in a supportive team environment while completing a nationally recognised qualification.

This traineeship has been made available with the assistance of funding under the Queensland Government's Skilling Queenslanders for Work - First Start Program. The First Start Program primarily targets young Queensland school leavers and disadvantaged job seekers considered at risk of enduring prolonged period of unemployment and accordingly, certain information is required from applicants to confirm eligibility for participation.

Funding Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible, applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:

Youth aged 15-24 years

Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island people

Mature-age job seekers (45 years or older)

Non English Speaking Background

People with a disability

What your day will look like:

Assisting with basic finance tasks such as data entry and reports

Supporting payroll and accounts payable processes

Typing documents, correspondence, and meeting notes

Organising records and maintaining accurate information

Providing friendly customer service to staff and customers

Working as part of a team and learning new skills every day

What you'll need for success:

Good written and verbal communication skills

Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, email)

Willingness to learn and complete a Certificate III qualification

Ability to work well in a team

Positive attitude and good time management

Class C Driver's Licence (or ability to obtain)

What's nice to have:

Interest in administration, finance or local government

Confidence working with numbers and data

Customer service experience (school, work or volunteering)
