Bayside Council is excited to announce a new Cadet Internal Auditor position, to support emerging talent in audit and risk management. This cadetship offers a rare opportunity to work alongside an experienced Internal Auditor while completing your studies in a relevant field. Key Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Internal Auditor, you will be mentored in various key areas, including:
Assisting with developing and implementing audit plans to identify risks and assess Council operations.
Supporting reviews of compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures.
Participating in investigations, audits, and assessments to ensure ethical, effective, and efficient practices.
Preparing reports and recommendations to inform decision-making by senior leadership.
Learning to conduct probity audits of tender processes for selected projects.
Enhancing staff awareness through audit-related communication and training initiatives.
What We're Looking For:
We are looking for someone who:
Is currently undertaking a Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance in 2025 and is in their penultimate or final year of study.
Demonstrates a strong interest in internal auditing, or compliance.
Possesses excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Is keen to learn, adapt, and contribute to the team.
