Overview

The Network Security Engineering function is central to delivering secure, resilient network infrastructure that supports multiple business units and high‐profile digital products.
As a Senior Network Security Engineer, you will design, engineer, and support advanced network security solutions that enable business value and operational stability across multiple portfolios. You will collaborate with diverse engineering squads spanning cloud networking, network automation, and workforce connectivity.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design, engineering, and implementation of network security solutions aligned with business and cyber‐security standards.
* Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with network security designs and solution proposals.
* Provide technical consultation to projects, ensuring alignment with network architecture and operational requirements.
* Develop and maintain detailed network security design documentation, including firewall configurations and security policy deployments.
* Manage complex technical escalations from suppliers, operations teams, and application stakeholders.
* Author complex implementation plans and perform configuration changes on network services and devices, including after‐hours support when required.
* Mentor junior engineers and uplift team capability across multiple technologies.
* Engage with stakeholders across business units, service managers, architects, and third‐party vendors to ensure network security objectives are met.
* Stay current with emerging network security technologies to support continuous improvement and innovation.
* Adhere to organizational codes of conduct and maintain high ethical standards in all activities.
Required Qualifications and Skills
* Experience in IT networking roles within large organisations.
* Experience in network design or architecture.
* Strong expertise with Cisco network equipment, including Nexus, IOS switches, routers, and firewalls.
* Solid understanding of core networking technologies such as VXLAN, VPN, BGP, and OSPF.
* Proven ability to manage technical escalations and produce detailed network security design documentation.
* Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience mentoring junior engineers.
* Flexibility to work after‐hours to support network changes and deployments.
* Professional certifications such as CCNP or CCSP.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in IT, Technology, or related fields.
* Certifications such as CCIE, CISSP, ITIL, or cloud certifications (AWS, Azure).
* Experience with network scripting and automation tools including Ansible, Python, NSO, Yang, Terraform, and JSON.
* Familiarity with F5 GTM/LTM, DNS, VMware NSX, and cloud network security policies in Azure and AWS.
* Knowledge of enterprise network tools such as Algosec, vRealize Network Insight, Splunk, SolarWinds, Qualys, and Infoblox.
* Experience working within the financial services industry.
