**About the Role**
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced **Principal Policy Officer - Policy Project Lead** to join a high-profile government agency for an initial period of up to six months. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals with expertise in **policy development**, **legislative reform**, and **stakeholder engagement** to play a key role in shaping significant policy outcomes.
**Key Responsibilities**:
As the Project Lead, you will be responsible for managing and leading complex policy projects, focusing on both internal and external reviews and legislative reform. Your responsibilities will include:
- **Coordinating and undertaking major policy projects** related to internal and external reviews and legislative reform.
- **Leading complex legislative reform projects** through the Parliamentary process, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and procedures.
- **Reviewing and analysing state and national acts**, regulations, codes, and associated materials to identify areas for reform and improvement.
- **Researching and analysing complex and sensitive information**, preparing reports and responses with recommendations on matters pertaining to projects as directed.
- **Preparing high-level briefings and correspondence**, including those for the Attorney General, Parliamentary Briefing Notes, and Estimates briefings.
- **Drafting high-level Cabinet documentation** to support policy initiatives and legislative reform.
- **Preparing high-level reports, policy positions, and other written materials** that communicate complex issues effectively to key stakeholders.
**About You**:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience in **policy development** and **legislative reform**.
- Strong ability to **lead complex projects** and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
- Exceptional **research, analytical, and problem-solving skills**, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, actionable reports.
- Experience drafting **high-level documentation**, including briefings and Cabinet submissions.
- A proactive approach and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of the **Parliamentary process** and relevant legislative frameworks.
