Job Description
Zap Supply Pty Ltd Heavy Truck Drivers (ANZSCO: ) Full-time/Permanent $76,000 - $85,000 (higher salary will be considered commensurate to qualifications and experience)
Responsibilities
* Operate multiple-combination heavy vehicles including B-Double, Double Road Train and AB-Triple configurations.
* Undertake long-haul driving across remote locations, often requiring overnight stays for two or more nights where required.
* Drive heavy trucks within Western Australia, including interstate runs when necessary.
* Transport hazardous or sensitive freight in accordance with relevant safety regulations.
* Perform daily pre-departure and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is road-worthy, and record or report any defects identified.
* Immediately report serious mechanical issues to designated maintenance or management personnel.
* Safely load and unload cargo using correct lifting and handling techniques.
* Maintain accurate records of the quantity and type of freight transported.
* Secure loads using blocks, straps and chains to ensure safe transport in accordance with load restraint requirements.
* Maintain regular communication with the depot or supervisor via radio or telephone for instructions or dispatch updates.
* Keep an accurate logbook in line with Heavy Vehicle Fatigue Management requirements, and complete relevant documentation such as delivery records, distance travelled and fuel usage.
* Report any road incidents or workplace occurrences to the dispatcher as soon as possible.
* Follow company and regulatory procedures in the event of a road accident or emergency.
* Keep the truck and all associated equipment clean, serviced and in proper working condition, demonstrating reliability, punctuality and strong work ethics.
* Plan haulage routes using maps or GPS systems in line with Main Roads WA requirements for heavy vehicles.
* Drive with heightened caution and adhere to all road safety regulations while transporting freight.
Qualifications and Experience
* AQF certificate II or III.
* Valid Australian heavy truck licence
* Minimum of 1 year recent heavy/multi-combination driving experience
* Basic mechanical knowledge will be highly regarded
* Dangerous goods licence
* Demonstrate sound geographic knowledge – WA
* Be highly reliable with a first-class approach to safety and customer service, good communication skills
* Fatigue Management Certificate
* Able to pass a drug and alcohol and pre-employment medical
* MSIC Card desirable
* Load restraint certificate
* Dogs and chain experience
