The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a 3rd Year Apprentice Heavy Vehicle Spray Painter to join the team at Western Truck Repairs.
In this role, you will work alongside experienced Spray Painters to further develop your skills and gain hands‐on experience producing high‐quality finishes on heavy vehicles.
Role Responsibilities
* Cleaning, sanding, and masking vehicle surfaces in preparation for painting
* Mixing and matching paint colours to achieve accurate colour matching
* Using spray guns and specialised equipment to apply paint evenly and professionally
* Applying primers, sealers, basecoats, and clearcoats
* Blending new paint into existing finishes for seamless repairs
* Carrying out touch‐ups and correcting surface imperfections
* Creating specialised finishes, textures, and effects where required
* Monitoring drying and curing processes to ensure quality results
* Inspecting completed work for defects or inconsistencies
* Following all workplace safety procedures and using PPE at all times
