About the Role
As a HIPPY Home Tutor, you will be employed for two years to deliver the HIPPY program in the Rockhampton and Mount Morgan communities. You’ll receive training, coaching, and ongoing support from the HIPPY Coordinator to build your skills and confidence in supporting other parents and carers.
This is a developmental role – no formal qualifications are required.
You will work a maximum of 15 hours per week across 3 days, and no school holiday work is required, making it a flexible and family friendly role.
What You’ll Do
* Deliver the HIPPY program to families through weekly or fortnightly home visits
* Support parents to engage in their child’s learning using fun and simple activities (just 15 minutes a day!)
* Encourage participation in reading, play, and educational activities
* Assist with planning and running HIPPY gatherings
* Attend all training sessions, workshops, and supervision led by the coordinator
* Link families with local services where needed with the support of the Coordinator
* Explore your own training and employment goals through the participate to Possibilities pathway
Requirements
* A passion for supporting children’s early learning and family wellbeing
* Willingness to travel locally for home visits
* Must obtain a Working with Children and young People check and National Police Clearance prior to employment
* Immunisation requirements – It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis A and Pertussis (whooping cough) during their employment.
