Job Overview:
The Prosecutor is responsible for providing a prosecution service in the North West Qld region. The role involves representing the Queensland Police Service in matters before various courts, including Magistrates, Childrens and Coroners Courts.
Main Responsibilities:
* Provide legal advice on court procedures and protocols.
* Represent the Service and its members in court proceedings, ensuring effective communication and presentation of evidence.
* Monitor and enhance the quality of briefs of evidence provided by police, striving for excellence in investigative work.
* Foster strong relationships with the community, government agencies, and the legal profession through active engagement and collaboration.
* Conduct thorough legal research, prepare compelling arguments, and provide insightful submissions and advice.
* Maintain high standards of performance and conduct, adhering to professional ethics and expectations.
Key Requirements:
* Admission as a legal practitioner in the State of Queensland or eligibility for immediate admission, demonstrating a strong foundation in law and procedure.
