Key Responsibilities

* Ensure safe, high-quality, evidence-based care with a focus on postnatal mental health.
* Lead and support nursing and multidisciplinary teams, fostering compassionate, trauma-informed care.
* Oversee clinical governance, accreditation, and risk management within a private hospital setting.
* Manage workforce planning, rostering, performance development, and staff wellbeing.
* Drive quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and clinical outcomes.
* Collaborate with psychiatrists, paediatricians, and the broader multidisciplinary team.
* Manage unit operations, budgets, and activity in line with organisational goals.
* Promote recovery-oriented, family-centred, and culturally safe care.
* Provide direct patient care and support hospital coordination, guiding less experienced staff.

Selection Criteria

* Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
* Current Working with Children Check
* Postgraduate qualification (or working towards) in Mental Health, Child and Family Health, Midwifery or related specialty
* Leadership experience at Nurse Unit Manager or equivalent level
* Strong understanding of postnatal mental health, infant development (0–12 months), attachment and family systems
* Ability to lead teams and manage complex environments
* Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
* Commitment to professional development
* High standard of clinical and consumer-focused care
* High computer literacy, including MS Office and databases
* Sound knowledge of labour management

Desirable

* Experience in Early Parenting, Mother–Baby or Perinatal/Postnatal Mental Health services
* Experience in a private hospital setting
* Knowledge of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented care models
