EEI supports both domestic and international students in achieving career outcomes through quality training and student support We are seeking an experienced and reliable Database Administrator to support and maintain our core education and business systems.
EEI is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to support, maintain and enhance its data management systems. This role is critical to ensuring the integrity, security, performance and availability of key educational, student and business data systems.
Key responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
· Monitoring the performance, availability and integrity of our database systems supporting student management, admissions, academic records and finance platforms.
· Providing day-to-day support, diagnosing and resolving database, server and system issues to ensure high system availability and data reliability.
· Designing, implementing and maintaining database backup, recovery and disaster-recovery strategies for critical education and business data.
· Performing database performance optimisation, including index tuning, SQL query optimisation and system parameter tuning to support high-concurrency access during peak periods such as enrolments and results release.
· Managing database security, user accounts and access permissions in accordance with the relevant privacy and education data compliance requirements.
· Work closely with internal teams to support data reporting, data extraction, user requirements, system enhancements and analytical datasets.
· Preparing and maintaining database architecture documentation, operating procedures, change management records and incident response documentation.
· Assisting with deployment, upgrades and patching of database systems and related infrastructure.
Essential skills and experience
Applicants must demonstrate:
· Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or Systems Management.
· At least 3 years of relevant full-time experience working as a database administrator or in a closely related role.
· Strong problem-solving capability including performance optimisation and issue resolution.
· Ability to work collaboratively with academic and administrative team members to deliver database services.
Desirable
· Experience working in an education, training or public-sector environment.
· Experience supporting systems such as student management, admissions, finance or academic administration platforms.
