We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist Anaesthetist to join our dedicated anaesthetic team in a rural, regional location in Queensland. The successful candidate will play an integral role in our well-equipped hospital that serves as the primary referral center for a vast and diverse region. Our anaesthetics department is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including operating theatres and an ICU/High Dependency Unit, where procedures are performed across a wide range of specialties, including general surgery, obstetrics, orthopaedics, and trauma.

Your Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Providing high-quality, evidence-based anaesthetic care across a variety of medical specialties, including surgery, obstetrics, trauma, and dental procedures.
* Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.
* Taking part in the supervision, teaching, and development of junior medical staff and anaesthesia trainees.
* Contribute to clinical governance and participate in ongoing professional development and training.
* Providing support to other healthcare facilities in the region, as needed.
* Participating in an on-call roster to support anaesthetic services as required.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
* Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or equivalent.
* Proficiency in anaesthesia for obstetrics and epidurals.
* Engagement in continuous medical education and quality improvement initiatives.
* Experience working with diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations.
Desirable Qualifications
While not essential, experience in paediatric anaesthesia (up to 5 years), interest or experience in Intensive Care management, or expertise in regional anaesthesia and pain management would be highly regarded.
