About Cleaning Services
The NSW Government’s reforms to public sector cleaning services entails the NSW Department of Education taking over management of the state’s Whole-of-Government cleaning contracts from January 1, 2026. A team has been established to deliver an enhanced Whole-of-Government cleaning contract for alignment and delivery of all program streams. Including Governance, ITD, Recruitment and Risk Management.
About the role
As a Cleaning Services Support Inspector, you will work alongside Inspectors, contractors and school staff to coordinate and conduct site inspections, capture information, and record performance results against cleaning standards. You will be involved in maintaining inspection schedules, track follow-up actions, and support accurate reporting through digital systems and databases. With your excellent communication skills, you will support the escalation and resolution of service issues when required.
In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring services meet contract and quality requirements — helping to identify issues, support compliance, and contribute to continuous improvement in cleaning delivery.

About you
We are looking for individuals that are proactive, reliable, and have a sharp eye for detail to join our newly established team to help keep NSW schools clean, safe and well-maintained.
You will bring:
* Strong organisational and coordination skills
* High attention to detail and accuracy in reporting
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Proficiency with digital systems, databases, or inspection tools
* A positive attitude and commitment to teamwork and service quality
Key Knowledge and Experience
* Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
* Current and valid driver’s licence.
* Willingness to travel to site locations as required.
* Current and valid Working with Children Check Clearance for paid employment.
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
