Supporting the development of sport in FNQ, in particular Rugby League, is at the core of Brothers mission and values. The club provides local sporting clubs with the necessary sponsorship and donations they need to provide genuine sporting opportunities to athletes young and old.Brothers offers quality service and leading facilities. The club's facilities have grown immensely to include Stan Williams Park Stadium, Fuller Sports Club, The Shamrock Bar, Bistro 26, Fratelli's, Q Sports Bar, Gaming Lounge, Bottle shop, Function Spaces, Auditorium.Your new roleWith a member centric approach, the CFO will be a visionary and strategic financial leader with a passion for driving growth and innovation, steering Brothers financial strategies with exposure to property development, debt financing, hospitality, club, sport or gaming.Reporting to the CEO, the CFO will be responsible for:Lead the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with Brothers strategic goals.Develop and implement comprehensive debt financing strategies to optimise capital structure and manage financial risk effectively.Provide expert financial analysis and insights to guide decision-making across various business units (F&B, events, gaming, sport & events and other business areas) and projects.Collaborate with the CEO and executive leadership team to drive revenue enhancement initiatives and identify opportunities for operational efficiency.Oversee financial reporting and compliance with industry regulations, accounting standards, and legal requirements.Building and maintaining strong relationships to secure funding and support to drive Brothers growth.Hands on leader to foster a high-performing finance team, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure professional development and success.Additionally, the CFO will have sufficient skill sets to deal with the strategic direction of the Club regarding the Masterplan particularly with regard to specific modelling and business plans associated with the future development of Brothers.What you'll need to succeedBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA/CA qualification preferred.Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior finance role within hospitality, club, member based organisations or property development.A highly credible CFO or finance professional that demonstrates strategic and operational excellence, a consultative but decisive leadership style and has strong values that are aligned to the local Cairns community. Further demonstrable skills will include excellent commercial acumen, exceptional execution skills that achieve high performance outcomes and an ability to engage people to deliver on a compelling vision.The successful CFO candidate will be an outstanding leader, an excellent communicator with high emotional intelligence and display strong personal attributes that allow you to mix comfortably with people from all walks of life.
