The opportunity
The City of Mandurah Festivals and Events team is seeking a talented and experienced individual to fill a casual role of Events Support Officer. In this role, you will assist in the delivery of major festivals, sport and recreation events within the City of Mandurah which build the capacity of local businesses, the community and increase visitation to our City Centre.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Experience in major event management or similar discipline
* Previous experience with large scale event delivery in an outdoor public space
* Experience in inputting creative ideas into City events
* Working knowledge and experience of administration and operational implementation of major and complex events
* Previous experience in the planning and delivery of event and entertainment programs and services, preferably with the coordination of special events
* A flexible approach to working hours, as position requires some weekend and after-hours work
* Commitment to learning and understanding local government procedures and policies
* Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
