This is your opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of critical equipment in a dynamic and safety-focused workplace.
Role will be Fly-in-Fly-Out from Brisbane / Cairns, or Drive-in-Drive-out.
The roster will be a 7:7 day/night shift.Reporting directly to the Hydraulic Maintenance Superintendent, you will be responsible for supervising a diverse group of maintenance technicians and executing maintenance activities in an operational open-cut environment.Key Responsibilities:Lead and supervise a team of hydraulic technicians, fitters, auto electricians and boilermakers in the maintenance and repair of mobile tracked equipmentOversee scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum equipment availabilityDiagnose hydraulic faults and implement effective solutionsEnsure compliance with safety standards, maintenance procedures, and environmental regulationsCollaborate with planning and reliability teams to improve maintenance strategies and asset performanceMentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safetyManage and coach work groups on quality, task-based risk assessmentsStrong commitment to the field leadership program and coach field leadership activitiesAbout youTrade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Diesel Fitting, or equivalentExtensive experience in hydraulic systems maintenance within mining or heavy industry, working on equipment such as Dozers, Drills and ExcavatorsProven leadership experience in a supervisory or leading hand roleStrong fault-finding and diagnostic skillsExcellent communication and team coordination abilitiesAn energetic and enthusiastic approach to work, with a drive to develop and learnAbout Our ProcessAt BHP, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the BHP Charter Values and meet the requirements of the role.
