The Chance:
ISS is seeking an experienced Chief Steward to lead the kitchen and dining operations at our remote mining villages in Central QLD. This is a unique DIDO opportunity for locals of the Central QLD region to manage a high-performing team on a 2 weeks on /1 week off Roster, giving you work life balance.
- Lead, train, and inspire a team of stewards to maintain excellent cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Manage dishwashing operations, kitchen cleaning schedules, and dining room set-up/pack-down.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, food safety, and hygiene standards.
- Collaborate closely with the Head Chef, Sous Chef, and Site Manager to maintain smooth kitchen and service operations.
- Monitor and maintain cleaning supplies, equipment, and stewarding costs within budget.
- Support and mentor team members to deliver exceptional service daily.

To be considered
- At least 2 years of proven professional experience as a Chief Steward, or similar leadership role in an industrial or commercial high-volume kitchen.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and manage a team.
- Excellent knowledge and execution of cleaning procedures, chemicals, and hygiene practices.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- DIDO experience in hospitality, mining camps, or remote sites is desirable.
- Advanced knowledge of food safety standards and WHS requirements.
- Ability to pass a full Pre-Employment Medical Assessment including Drug & Alcohol Screen.
- Coal Board Medical and Standard 11 Certificate highly desirable (or willing to obtain).
- Valid National Police Clearance within 12 months.
- Full working rights in Australia.
