An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Conference and Events Coordinator at Mercure Townsville, set within lush tropical gardens, in North QLD.
What your days will look like :
. Assist in the maintenance of conference database of key contacts / clients.
· Preparation and follow-up of events proposals in conjunction with the Weddings and Events Executive and Conference and Events Sales Manager.
· Provide assistance in the formulation of quotations for event proposals covering venue, function, menu, and accommodation costs
· Provide assistance in banquet operations when required, to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
· Complete organisation of conference and wedding activity / events from confirmation to post-event follow-up to ensure client satisfaction.
· Co-ordination and hosting of familiarisation and site inspection activity including follow-up.
· Assist in collating marketing collateral.
· Attend and actively participate in weekly Banquets Event Order meetings and, where appropriate, sales meetings respecting the confidentiality of issues that may be discussed formally or informally.
· Assist as required in the management of food and beverage service within the conferencing, events and outside catering areas
· Work with the Banquets/Conference and Events Operations team in ensuring there is a high level of cleaning and maintenance of events area, back of house, tableware, utensils and other materials and equipment used by Conference and Events
· Co-ordinate between Conference and other relevant departments to ensure that preparations for events have been made.
· Ensure constant liaison with the F&B and Banquets Team to achieve the objectives of the Conference Department.
· Any other duties assigned by the Conference & Sales Manager.
· Australian work authorisation required.
