We are seeking an experienced Privacy Officer to act as the APAC subject matter expert for privacy and data protection within Liberty. You will lead privacy framework development and implementation across APAC, manage regulatory relationships, and partner with legal, risk, information security and business teams to reduce privacy risk and ensure compliance with local laws.

Key responsibilities:
* Develop, maintain and operationalise the APAC privacy framework, programs, controls and policies.
* Provide advice and guidance to business units on privacy obligations, Privacy by Design and data protection best practice.
* Review and approve privacy impact assessments (PIAs), manage remediation with process owners and track corrective actions.
* Lead responses to privacy queries, complaints and data breaches; liaise with APAC privacy regulators as required.
* Work closely with data governance, information security and global privacy teams to align controls and reporting.
* Deliver training, communications and reporting on privacy compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Advise on and assess cross-border data transfers across APAC jurisdictions to ensure compliance with local privacy laws and regulatory requirements.
* Support business units with data retention requirements and queries, including policy development and operational guidance.
* Contribute to the Responsible Artificial Intelligence (RAI) program, including privacy risk assessments, transparency obligations, and governance support.
* Conduct privacy due diligence on third-party vendors, including assessment of AI capabilities and data handling practices.
* Review contracts and legal documents to ensure privacy obligations are appropriately addressed and aligned with internal standards and regulatory expectations.
* Maintain awareness of regional regulation and emerging technologies (eg. AI) affecting data protection.
About you:
* Degree in law preferred; significant experience PQE desirable but candidates with strong relevant experience will be considered.
* Experience in privacy, data protection, compliance, security, risk management or auditing.
* Strong knowledge of APAC privacy regimes and experience liaising with regulators.
* Excellent stakeholder management, communication, investigative and analytical skills.
* Comfortable working independently and within a cross functional team to drive outcomes.
