The Opportunity:
We are seeking a creative and experienced Art Teacher to join our team commencing in the **** school year for a 0.4 FTE, 12-month contract.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching engaging and creative visual art classes to our students across Middle and Senior School.
Reporting to the Learning Area Coordinator - Arts, this teacher will be highly motivated with a clear understanding of the needs of young people and will work as part of a teaching team to deliver relevant curriculum in the core learning areas.
The role:
Set programmes and lesson objectives based on the curriculum and within ACARA and IBMYP requirements
Consistently give prompt feedback to students, encourage and involve students in class to enable them to fulfil their potential
Develop and use appropriate assessment tasks and accurately record all grades and results for student assessment
Promote a trusting and caring approach within the classroom
Maintain current knowledge of pedagogy and subject disciplines
Ability to relate well to students, recognising both the pastoral and educative aspects of the student-teacher relationship
Ability to teach other curriculum areas an advantage
Maintain an interest in the welfare of students and promote the wellbeing of students
Some out of hours will be required due to role requirements
What we need:
A current South Australian Working with Children Check (WWCC)
A current Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect (RRHAN) certificate
A current Teacher Registration Certificate in South Australia
First Aid and CPR Certificate (preferred)
Academic Transcripts and Degrees, Diplomas, Certificates
All certificates and qualifications must be provided to the College prior to commencement of employment; and the College requests the applicant to disclose any information relevant to their eligibility to engage in activities involving children and young people.
