TasPorts is Tasmania’s critical port and marine infrastructure operator, enabling the State’s trade, connectivity and economic activity.
TasPorts is seeking to appoint a Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation’s strategic, cultural and commercial performance in line with Board direction and shareholder expectations. The CEO will provide steady, credible leadership that balances strong governance, safety and public accountability with disciplined commercial performance and long-term asset stewardship.
The Board is seeking a CEO who can set the long-term strategic direction of the organisation and lead sequenced, thoughtful change that improves performance without destabilising the organisation.
A defining element of the role is driving enterprise leadership and shaping long-term strategy across strategic asset planning and capital allocation. Furthermore, the successful candidate will translate long-term infrastructure needs into practical, prioritised programs and credible pathways to delivery. Importantly, the new CEO will engage closely with Government, customers, industry, unions and communities through building trusted and transparent relationships.
The CEO will be responsible for leading a safety‑critical, complex infrastructure organisation that operates in the public domain. The successful candidate will foster an environment where safety, wellbeing and culture are deeply connected and continuously strengthened. This commitment to people and culture will underpin a strong focus on disciplined commercial and operational performance aligned to TasPorts’ public purpose.
Relevant tertiary qualifications are required, with postgraduate study desirable, and the successful candidate must be eligible to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
