You'll play a vital role in patient phlebotomy, biospecimen collection, data entry and lab operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.In this role, you will be involved in:collecting, processing and storing biospecimens and recruiting participants at Nepean Public and Private Hospitals and at the Nepean Cancer Care Centregathering and entering clinical data and health-related information into databasesperforming laboratory and administrative duties that support research activitiesassisting with biobanking cohorts across the fields of lung, prostate and other cancer types and other non-cancer related diseases.About youThe University values courage and creativity; openness and engagement; inclusion and diversity; and respect and integrity. We are looking for a Research Assistant - Nepean Biobank who possesses:tertiary qualification or equivalent in biological or medical science with relevant experience in handling and processing biological samples in a laboratoryexperience or willingness to learn phlebotomykeen attention to detail when collecting and transcribing clinical information, and experience and awareness of issues related to privacy laws when dealing with confidential patient informationunderstanding of good clinical practice and biobanking techniques, including phlebotomy, and clinical data collectionfamiliarity with good research data management practicesproficiency in research software such as File Maker Pro, REDCap and Excelexcellent communication skills with proven ability to communicate fluently with patients and medical/health care teamsstrong teamwork skills and the ability to schedule and prioritise workload during busy periods.Work RightsYou must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to apply.
