An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified perfusionist to join the Cardiothoracic Surgery unit at Canberra Health Services. The individual will have a key role in supporting the Cardiothoracic Surgery Service to achieve our strategic priorities and provide exceptional health care to our patients from the ACT and surrounding regions. This role requires a suitably experienced perfusionist who meets the criteria of a Perfusionist Level 4; this is necessary due to the level of autonomy and specific skills required in this role. Under general direction of the Managing Perfusionist, the Perfusionist role is responsible for the provision of life support for patients undergoing elective and/or emergency cardiac surgery at Canberra Hospital. Responsibilities include safe perfusion practice adhering to ANZCP standards and guidelines, and working within a multi-disciplinary team often within a high stress environment. The Perfusionist is required to participate in the Perfusion Close Call Roster to ensure perfusion services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Qualifications & Conditions
Qualified perfusionist with experience at level 4. Adherence to ANZCP standards and guidelines. Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team in high stress environments. Participation in 24/7 Perfusion Close Call Roster. Undergo pre-employment National Police Check. Compliance with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy. Compliance with CHS credentialing and scope of clinical practice requirements for allied health professionals.
