PhD Research Opportunity
We are seeking a PhD candidate to explore the intricacies of varietal water and nutrient requirements in almond trees within the Murray-Darling Basin. The primary objective is to investigate the physiological response of almond varieties to orchard management practices, with a focus on identifying factors contributing to leafing failure.
The project will entail plant physiological measurements, including carbohydrate levels, to contribute to sustainable farming systems and a healthy river ecosystem. Collaboration with growers and industry partners will inform best management practices for individual almond varieties.
