Job Description
- Full-time position available based at the Hobart, TAS site.
- Morning shift: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm.
- An extra 1.5% superannuation is paid on top of the standard national super rate.
- Graduates and entry-level applicants are welcome to apply—laboratory experience is preferred but not essential.
Reporting to the State Manager, this role is ideally full-time; however, for the right candidate we are open to part-time arrangements with some flexibility in working hours.
The Laboratory Technician will primarily be responsible for:
- Receive and log samples for analysis.
- Assist with microbiological analysis, including calculations and interpretation of results under supervision.
- Perform quality control tasks and ensure all procedures meet ISO 17025 and company standards.
- Coordinate consumables dispatch, sample dispatch, stocktake and warehouse management.
- Maintain laboratory and warehouse cleanliness and support laboratory projects.
- Uphold Eurofins’ Code of Ethics, Quality Systems, and safety policies.
- This role provides the chance to work with a leading global testing organisation, gaining exposure to both laboratory and operational functions while supporting national operations.
- Work well autonomously while maintaining high attention to detail and quality standards.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- A Laboratory Technician qualification with environmental and/or microbiology experience (or equivalent experience in a laboratory environment).
- Previous experience working in a laboratory is preferred.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle client and time pressures.
- A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to work safely and reliably as part of a team.
