A major bank is seeking an IMS DBA an initial 12 month contract highly likely to extend.
Role can be based in Sydney, Mlebourne, Brisbane or Adelaide
Responsibilities
* Administer, monitor, and optimize IMS DB/TM environments across production and non-production systems
* Perform IMS database design, modeling, reorganization, and performance tuning
* Manage IMS system segments, DBDs, PSBs, ACBs, and associated utilities
* Implement and support IMS exits, security, DR/HA configurations, and subsystem integrations
* Support incident, problem, and change management processes in a 24/7 financial environment
* Participate in large-scale modernization and platform engineering initiatives
Key Skills / Experience
* 5+ years of hands-on IMS DBA experience in large enterprise or financial services environments
* Strong knowledge of IMS DB, IMS TM, JCL, VSAM, RACF, z/OS utilities, and related mainframe tools
* Experience with database reorgs, performance tuning, and problem resolution
* Familiarity with automation frameworks and scripting (REXX, CLIST, etc.)
* Strong understanding of system reliability, HA/DR strategies, and mainframe best practices
