POSITION SUMMARY
The Camdenton R-III School District is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our English department at the Middle School. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and teaching engaging, age-appropriate, and hands‐on lessons in coding, computer science, and digital literacy. QUALIFICATIONS
* Must possess and maintain a proper Missouri teaching certificate for Computer Science or Technology Education.
* Pass all background checks and screenings.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Design and deliver comprehensive lessons in coding, algorithms, digital literacy, and computer science tailored to middle school learners.
* Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized, small group instruction, and classroom learning.
* Instruct students on safe, ethical, and responsible technology use.
* Develop lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and instructional materials and translate lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction.
* Maintain, troubleshoot, and supervise the computer laboratory, ensuring all software and hardware are functioning correctly.
* Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student's needs.
* Continue to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
* Lead initiatives like coding clubs, hackathons, or STEM competitions.
* Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record‐keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
* Encourage parental involvement in students' education and ensure effective communication with students and parents.
* Ensure that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
* Collaborate with other teachers, school staff, and administrators to enhance the educational experience.
* Select and requisition appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and maintain inventory records.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Middle School Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
* 9 month contract (179 days)
* Salary Schedule: commensurate with education and experience. Base salary starts at $43,500.
* Benefits include Board paid health insurance, paid sick leave, retirement and other.
