Job Title: Cultural Heritage Officer
Transport and Main Roads is seeking a Cultural Heritage Officer to join their team. As a key member of the department, you will provide high-level specialist advice on cultural heritage and native title policy, methodologies, and standards.
Responsibilities include:
* Providing guidance and cultural heritage management to meet the department's commitments and legislative requirements.
* Demonstrating an applied understanding of historical and indigenous best practice cultural heritage management.
* Providing sound level of cultural heritage advice and identifying options and solutions to support the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of transport infrastructure.
* Undertaking research, including cultural heritage site survey where required.
* Collecting and inputting cultural heritage data into the department's heritage register.
You will also develop, strengthen, and maintain relationships with registered Aboriginal Party/ies and negotiate with them on cultural heritage issues.
