Role purpose
As the Chronic Respiratory Clinical Nurse Consultant (or working towards) you will provide advanced clinical leadership and consultancy, research, education and service planning across MLHD.
Responsibilities
Provide clinical leadership, supervision and mentoring for clinicians to ensure high-quality, timely consultation and support.
Lead and model the delivery of complex specialist respiratory nursing care and develop specialist clinical practice and service delivery to provide effective, quality care for consumers requiring the service.
Work within the domains of Clinical Service and Consultancy, Clinical Leadership, Research, Education and Clinical Services Planning.
Develop capacity for the safe and effective management of consumers presenting to EDs with mental distress.
Collaborate with consumers and carers, utilising feedback to improve service quality, safety, consumer satisfaction, and to identify and participate in education delivery.
Review and contribute to the Position Description and related documents as required.
About you / Qualifications
Current Authority to Practice as an RN with APHRA, with at least 5 years' experience in Chronic Respiratory Disease and a relevant postgraduate nursing qualification (candidates meeting CNC1 requirements with a plan for CNC2 development within 12-18 months will be considered).
Critical thinking, problem-solving and the ability to make timely decisions autonomously.
Strong understanding of respiratory disease and the ability to negotiate complex issues across services.
Experience in capacity building and practice development.
Clinical expertise with demonstrated leadership in evidence-based practice and clinical development.
Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and computer skills; ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Experience providing consultancy support to nurses, multidisciplinary teams and medical staff.
Current Class C driver's license and willingness to travel for work within MLHD (may involve long distances).
