About the role
Our valued client, a leading organisation within the gold mining sector, is seeking a motivated and experienced Laboratory Technician to join their site-based team on a casual basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-performing laboratory operation within a safety-focused mining environment.
What you'll be doing
* Carrying out routine and specialised laboratory tests
* Preparing and processing samples for testing, including weighing, grinding, and digestion
* Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instrumentation AAS machines etc
* Accurately recording and documenting test results
* Adhering to strict quality control and safety standards
What we're looking for
* Previous experience working in a laboratory environment, preferably in the Gold mining or minerals processing industry
* Minimum 1-2 years of laboratory experience required
* Proficiency in operating a range of laboratory equipment and instrumentation
* AAS experience and familiarity with mineral or gold analysis highly regarded
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Commitment to safety and quality control
Additional requirements
* ability to successfully pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening.
* possess or ability to obtain a current National police clearance
* availability for an immediate start.
