* Salary Range: (HEO4) $73,961 to $81,067 plus 17% superannuation
* Work in a dynamic small animal veterinary hospital environment
We are recruiting for multiple experienced Veterinary Nurses with sound technical skills in areas such as surgery, emergency, internal medicine or general practice to deliver high‐quality patient care, clinical assistance, and student learning support within the Small Animal Hospital. Opportunities are available within both our General Practice Nursing stream and our Surgery Nursing stream.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide nursing support across general practice consultations, procedures, treatments and surgeries.
* Support continuous patient care through a rotating weekend roster.
* Play an important role in patient care, anaesthesia and imaging preparation, treatment implementation, and client communication.
* Support safe and effective clinical delivery in line with hospital standards across medical, surgical, dental, diagnostic and emergency services.
* Collaborate with veterinarians, students, client relations and administrative teams to contribute to clinical teaching and student learning.
* Ensure best‐practice hygiene, animal housing, equipment maintenance, biosecurity and safety procedures for smooth day‐to‐day hospital operation.
* Provide perioperative patient care, surgical preparation, anaesthesia support and recovery nursing in the Surgery stream or oversee consultations, preventive care and day‐to‐day management in the General Practice stream.
Qualifications
* Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, or a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology, together with a minimum of two years' relevant veterinary nursing experience.
Experience and Skills
* Sound technical skills in areas such as surgery, emergency, internal medicine or general practice.
* Experience working in a clinical setting and maintaining best practices.
* Experience with practice management software.
* Experience providing supervision and/or training to students.
* Experience applying occupational health and safety and biosecurity protocols.
* Experience working independently and as part of a team in a dynamic hospital environment.
* Ability to participate in a rotational weekend roster.
